APPEARANCE:
Nik's hair is jet black. He tends to wear it shaggy and medium in lengh. So it falls in his eyes alot and he is consently moving out of his face. His eyes are an icy blue. When you look into his eyes you tended to get lost in the mystery that lays within. Nik has a lip ring. ONE, one on his shoulder of a cross. You will normal find nik in jeans and a tight t-shirt. He is kinda of a emo kid. He like black colors so must of his shirt are that color. His favorite shoes are converses and air walks. Some times on rare times you will see him dressed up in nice jeans with a button up shirt. But this is only for formal things like weddings and court.
PERSONALITY:
Nik is a mystery to everyone around him. He doesn't talk much, and he is very quiet and withdrawn. He is mysterious but intriguing at the same time. He isn't very talkative, and likes to keep to himself for the most part. He enjoys working in silence, and doesn't like nosy people. He doesn't talk about his past much, all he will tell people is that he grew up in some small town and just had to leave to "explore his options". Trust isn't something that he will hand out at ease. He hasn't trusted anyone in years, and it kinda scares him.
Once you get to know him, he becomes more of a mystery, but less of a mystery at the same time. He talks more and more with the more you know about him. He's quite outgoing when he wants to be. He has quite the temper though. He grew up in an abusive home, but refuses to let himself stoop to be as low as his father and hurt another human with anger taking him over. If he ever did, he would probably never forgive himself for it. He's hard on himself, he really is. It's not good for him. If he does something wrong, or hurts someone, emotionally or physically, he beats himself down constantly and puts him into a horrid state of mind.
Nik has spent that last few years of his life on the run. He hasn't had time to think about making to many friends or even think about having a relationship with anyone. When he cares about someone, he really does care about them. He is more afraid of hurting someone else, than being hurt himself. Ideally he may come off as someone who would make the perfect boyfriend, sweet, caring, mysterious, but he has many underlying problems that many do not know, including his past.
HISTORY:
Nik was born to a young family in a very small town that not many people knew of. It was a good twenty minute drive just to reach the nearest acceptable general store that would hold all of your needs. His parents couldn't have been more perfect for each other and their love seemed to be passed down to their young son. Joseph adored his son, he loved the little tyke and Nik grew up very close to his father. His mother and father always had a strong relationship. Whenever they were out you'd see the Nik small hand holds or some small sign of affection between them. Everyone thought that they were perfect. And life at home couldn't have been better for young . He grew up a typical boy, running around, chasing birds, getting stung by bees. As far back as he can remember he'd always been attached to the wild. All animals seemed to love Nik and he often came home with a stray or hurt animal. But in this small town he wasn't accepted. He was considered a freak, weird. He would rather spend his time in the woods than playing with the other kids. He was a free spirit, and nothing could ever change that. Or so he thought.
At age eleven something horrible happened. His mother and him were going to the general store to pick up that weeks grocery list. His father was at work of course. They got to the grocery store, and then they left, everything seemed perfect, normal even. But a drunk driver couldn't keep to their own lane and hit Nik and his mothers car head on. The truck crushed the small car and killed his mother instantly. Nik spent two weeks in the intensive care unit, his father never left the hospital, afraid his son would slip through his fingers. Nik pulled through, many stitches and even more scars, but all of those things were alright with him, he was still alive.
At first, his father cared for his son greatly, almost like if he took his eyes off of his son that he would slip away. When his father denied him access to the outdoors, telling him he couldn't wander the woods alone anymore, Nik just started sneaking from the house. When his father caught him one time, he blew up. It was the first time he beat his son. From that day on, Nik noticed the changes. Depression clung to his father and the drink became his only friend. Nik didn't know how, but his father managed to keep his job. Nobody knew about the abuse, and Nik would never speak of it. One time he made the mistake of telling his father he was going to tell on him, and it just enraged his father even more.
Soon with time, Nik was free to go and come as he pleased, as long was to afraid to stand up to his father, to afraid to tell anyone about it. Nik got a job at a local animal shelter, it was exactly what he liked. He got to work and he was around animals, all was good. His father for once in his life approved of his son's actions, telling him a good man worked hard. But that didn't stop the beatings.
At school, Nik was an outcast, talking to no one unless he had to. But that didn't mean that people didn't catch his eye. One girl, she always had Nik's eye. She began growing on him, he wanted to know more about her, but dared not to bring her into his life. That was one more reason why he had no friends, he didn't want anyone to know what his father did to him. Part was shame and part was fear but he kept it a secret tied to his heart. This girl though, she was unlike anyone he had met, except she wasn't really his friend. He kept his distance as much as he could.
When he was nearly sixteen years old, nik decided one night he should stand up to his father, and when his father started yelling, he yelled right back. At first his father was shocked, but then it just turned to pure rage. The rage in the mans eyes scared Nik beyond belief but the two kept arguing. The only thing Nik didn't do, was hit his father back. When his father hit him, he flinched away, he didn't hit him back, he would only yell. But when Nik mentioned his mother, all yelling ceased and more pain than you can imagine grew in his fathers eyes and cut through Nik's heart. His father wailed him across the face with a punch and threatened his son's life.
That night, Nik wrote a note to the girl who he had fallen in love with, and slipped it into her window and he left. He took the train to another town, and another, and another. He skipped towns until finally settling down some place. At first it was hard to find a job, but he soon found that working at on a farm helping with calving season. But he never stayed in one place for to long, fear instilled that his father might find him. The fear became so bad he he obessed over it. He losed his job and ended up at Rosedale Academy. His demons may finally laid to rest.
