NAME:: Spectra J. Acale
GENDER: Female
AGE&YEAR: 16/2, Year 3
PROBLEM: Phobic, Anthropophobia- Fear of people or society and Severe
RISK: High
PLAY BY: Emma Watson
APPEARANCE:
Spectra is an average height for her age, around 5" 9 and is slim, although not underweight. She has relatively pale skin, which doesn't tan easily, even when she spends most of her time outside. She mostly wears jeans and shirts, with a variety of colours or badges on them. She seems to stand out, even when she doesn't want to. Her hair is a dark brown, with a hint of blonde, which has a slight curl to it and falls around her shoulders, but she usually wears it scraped back into a ponytail. As she believes it gets in the way. Her eyes are a dark grey colour, and her gaze seems to look right into your soul. She can mainly be seen in converses or military style boots, almost managing to keep up in style but yet, at the same time. Be falling behind it. She rely's on music to keep her in the real world, so she always has headphones in her ears.
PERSONALITY:
Spectra's personality is somewhat of a confusion to many people. At first, when you meet her, she almost seems as if she is in the wrong group, and that she should be with the people with a mental disorder. This is because of the fact that while she hasn't decided to trust you or not, she will do anything to stop you making assumptions of her. She's not scared of what people think of her, she just doesn't like them talking behind her back.
Her real personality is that she is incredibly quiet, often the one being forgotten about, the one left at the back of the room to not be spoken to the whole day. It doesn't bother her, as she isn't very good at communicating with people. She can't be in a room with large groups of people, as it freaks her out and she has to sit on her own outside. Most people learn that if they ever want a decent reply out of her without Spectra running away, they should look outside, as that is where she stays most of the day, watching and drawing the world. Most of the time her Claustrophobia is so severe she can't go inside for long periods of time, which means she is constantly suffering from nightmares as it makes her feel insecure and shut off.
She has a habit of daydreaming, when she is in this state she is extremely venerable as she loses all sense of what is reality and can become fascinated in the simplest thing, for instance, a leaf or a ray of light shining through the window. Spectra is also good at covering up her emotions to other people, as she believes that emotions make you weaker and seem defenceless. Only in severe amounts of emotions will she show it. Another habit is being clumsy and being mischievous, when she has the chance to. She doesn't have many friends, but get's by.
HISTORY:
Spectra originates from Ireland, where she led a pretty normal childhood, without having any problems with her unknown (a that time) phobia's. She lived there until she was 10, before her parents took her and her younger brother, Hector, to America, as they believed that it would bring new income to the family after her father had lost her job earlier that year.
All was going well until they got onto the plane which would take them them to their new home across sea's. Spectra suffered an severe panic attack after being in the plane, which ended up with her nearly killing herself in an attempt to get away. She ended up in hospital where she woke up 3 weeks later with no memory with what had happened. The next time they tried to move to America, they made sure Spectra was given drugs to stop her from suffering the same attack as before.
At the age of 14, she wasn't getting on well at high school, she was bullied most of the time and skipped most of her classes as she began to grow afraid of so many people in one place at any one time. She didn't like the way things worked, the system and the way each class included something to do with the media or society. After various unsuccessful visits to numerous psychiatrists, the doctors still had no explanation to Spectra's overall behaviour and the origination of her fears.
Things began to get worse after her Mother developed lung cancer. Her Mum had always been a heavy smoker, but Spectra had thought nothing of it. After a month of suffering, her Mum died in her sleep. Only to be found the next morning by Spectra's father and herself. The sight of her dead mother scared her increasingly each day. Every night she would awake screaming after another nightmare replaced the first.
After a long amount of time, her father decided she should be taken to the academy, in some hope she would improve. Although Spectra knows that it's already too late to gain back her father's trust.
